Of 15 from January to 25 March, Susana Rico's photography exhibition is on view at the Casa da Cultura, “Cities: Identities”.
Born in Setúbal, Susana Rico's story is a photographic journey that took her to the most remote corners of the world. However, his childhood was an intriguing duality, a mix of roots between Portugal and Switzerland.
To 16 year old, returned to Portugal and took a degree in Marketing and Advertising, which concluded in 2005, in the vibrant heart of Lisbon.
The desire for new adventures soon took her to London, where he improved his English language skills. One year later, returned to Switzerland, with the aim of exploring the world.
And it was during a trip to the island of Bali, in Indonesia, in 2011, that the passion for photography began. Bali's stunning landscapes and fascinating cultures inspired a series of photos that marked the beginning of his exploration of the world of images.
Exposed to different cultures from a young age, Susana developed a unique sensitivity to the world around her. Her photographic journey led her to focus on urban and documentary photography, where its mission is to capture the essence of people and urban subcultures.
Choosing your themes is as unique as your journey, with a keen eye for the extraordinary in everyday life. In your portfolio you can see an explosion of contrasts and nostalgia in how you observe the world through your lens.. For Susanna, beauty is a matter of perspective, a belief that everyone has unique beauty. Your motto is simple: Meraki – do everything with soul and creativity.
