Beja: GNR disinfects Lar Nobre Freire where there are three users infected with Covid-19.
The Emergency Protection and Relief Unit (UEPS) da GNR, today disinfected and cleaned the first floor of Lar Nobre freire, in Beja, where there are three users infected with Covid-19.
The intervention follows a request from the Municipality of Beja and the institution of social solidarity, located in the historic area of ​​the city and which according to Paulo Arsénio, president of the city council, “Implied the departure of 33 users during a substantial part of the day to the facilities of the Diocesan Seminary, where they will stay until 20,00 hours", justified.
Regarding cases of infection by Covid-19, the mayor of Beja, assured that in the municipality “there are still 11 positive cases, no more cases have been reported since last Monday ”, words of Paulo Arsénio that contradict the numbers of the DGS that that day gave 6 positive cases and in the report from Wednesday to today, the existence of nine infected.
The UEPS team is a sub-unit of Guarda, composed of experts in hazardous materials and integrates 10 operational and three vehicles, that use thermal foggers, to spread a dense fog that decontaminates the spaces, where it was applied. In order not to take risks, the operational staff are equipped with facts, boots, gloves and full face mask with filter.
JN, the head of UEPS, captain Cerqueira, revealed that “the space was recognized, clothes were removed and users' goods were disinfected and 45 minutes the decontamination operation is complete ”, adding that after carrying out the action "it is necessary to create circulation corridors to avoid contamination again", concluded.
This UEPS team was last Tuesday at the home of the Social Center of SĂŁo Jorge and Senhora das Pazes, in Vila Verde Ficalho, in the municipality of Serpa, where he proceeded to disinfect and sanitize that space.
Next week at the request of the Municipality of Tavira, to carry out the same operation in an old shipyard and in the premises of the Fair and Exhibition Park of that Algarve city, where about three dozen Indian and Nepalese farm workers have been confined.
Colonel IlĂdio Canas, command of the Beja Territorial Command, who accompanied the UEPS operations at the Beja home, recalled the GNR motto “For the law and for the flock”, justifying that “we limit ourselves to fulfill our obligation in aid of grei, in this case the people ”, concluded.
