Beja: GNR arrested 16 people and seized various types of drugs in operations.


The GNR arrested in Beja district sixteen people in flagrant offense. Three for driving under the influence of alcohol and six without a license. The military detected 80 for speeding offenses.

The fifteen arrests are some of the highlights of a set of operations, no district, carried out by the Land Control Beja (CTBeja) the week of 6 a 13 August, which aimed to prevent and combat violent crime, road inspection, among others.

In a statement on the operational activity sent to the wording of Lidador News (LN), GNR gives also says that there were five arrests for drug trafficking.
With regard to the fight against drug trafficking, the military seized the CTBeja 319 doses of hashish, 64 doses of cocaine, five doses of cannabis, six doses of a vehicle and MDMA.

Of traffic control operations and surveillance in general, The following evidence records: 369 detected offenses, highlighting-se 80 for speeding, 21 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 20 by missing or improper use of safety belts and / or restraint system for children, 10 for driving with alcohol level in blood higher than allowed by law, 8 for lack of mandatory liability insurance and 7 relating to tachographs.

As for road accidents, GNR registered fifty-two accidents, with log: one dead, one seriously injured and seven minor injuries.

As regards the general control, They were prepared ten notices of contravention, highlighting five in police law.

The GNR also conducted an awareness-raising actions under the program “Safety in the Elderly”, having been sensitized 34 seniors.
