The PJ detained two individuals, one of which in the Beja area, in possession of thousands of videos and images of child pornography.
The Judicial Police (PJ) announced the arrest of two men, of 39 and 37 year old, residents in the Beja area and also in Olhão, no district Faro, on suspicion of child pornography.
In a statement, the PJ indicated that the suspects were detained by elements of the Southern Directorate, within the scope of investigations that originated in investigations carried out by this police and in a communication from an international organization.
Second to PJ, the operation included carrying out house searches, in the Beja area and in Olhão, in which several devices were seized, namely computers, external drives and mobile phones.
“After carrying out computer research on the equipment, thousands of videos and images containing child pornography were identified, in which young children participate in explicit sexual acts with adults”, forward.
The PJ said it suspected that “some of this material may have been shared with third parties”, not yet identified, stating that the investigation continues to “full clarification of the facts and identification of other possible suspects”.
The two detainees will be present at the first judicial interrogation, Thursday, for the application of the respective coercive measures.
