Beja: João Paulo Trindade today takes over as president of the Polytechnic Institute.


John Paul Trinity, takes today (2 November) posse, as president of the Polytechnic Institute of Beja (IPBeja). The IPBeja Day is celebrated the 7 November.

Associate Professor and Director of Technology and Management School (evening) and former president of the Chamber of Alvito, John Paul Trinity, takes today, from 9:00, in the auditorium of the Common Services I, office as President of IPBeja, which will be conferred by the President of the General Council, Ana Escoval.

It is recalled that the new president saw his application be voted by a majority, in 15 May, with 18 votes to 3 abstentions, beating the other candidate, Carlos Silva, professor at the University of Évora.

After John Paul's election Trinity, there was a resource for alleged irregularities in the vote, now the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, rejects, with the approval of the election process.

Last day 24 October, It was published in the Official Gazette the Ministry of Science degree, Technology and Higher Education, issuing the approval the election of John Paul Trinity as President of the Polytechnic Institute of Beja.

The former Mayor of Alvito, becomes the third president to be elected by direct vote after the statutory amendment and IPBeja of the General Council election, succeeding Vito Carioca, who had taken the place of José Luís Ramalho.

IPBeja Day and Academic Year Opening 2017/2018.

The commemoration ceremony of the Day of the Polytechnic Institute of Beja and the solemn opening of the Academic Year 2016/2017, done-not next day 7 November, it is not yet known the time of its realization, in what will be the first act of John Paul Trinity, as president of the institution.

During the ceremony take place the Student Ombudsman's interventions, the Mayor of Beja, the President of the General Council of IPBeja and the president of the higher education institution. It should also hold up the usual lesson of Wisdom and the delivery of scholarships and awards to students IPBeja.
