Beja deserves +: Movement finds it “a bit strange” that the PCP ignores the airport in the Parliamentary Days.

The Portuguese Communist Party promotes in the coming days 30 and 31 January the Parliamentary Days in Beja. The program does not include any visit to the Airport / Civil Terminal or meeting with ANA.

The Beja Movement deserves + (MBM+) defends an airport binomial (via Port of Sines) connectable by high-speed rail line – Beja would be connected to the main regions: Lisbon (40 minutes), Faro and Badajoz (20 minutes), Madrid (125 minutes).

Lidador Notícias wanted to understand what the Movement thought about the PCP's Parliamentary Days program not including a visit to the airport or a meeting with ANA, the infrastructure manager, having Florival Baioa, of (MBM+) reminded that “there are, as we all know, three major infrastructures that are fundamental for our region to, the Alentejo, can pave the way for your development, in particular for exploiting its enormous potential, the airport; a IP8/A26, the Lisbon-Beja-Faro railway, without which this doldrums of decades that we are going through cannot exist”, concluded.

The representative of the Movement justifies that “perhaps for this and for many other reasons it is important and pertinent that the political parties come to Beja, at parliamentary plenary meetings and, here, discuss the big problems that we will hardly be able to solve without support and socioeconomic intelligence from those who were voted by the people”, adding that in view of the Parliamentary Days “which for this reason we find it a bit strange that the PCP does not pay a visit and talk to the Airport management so that he will have his functions in active, as it can become a major center of employment and economic dynamism”, finished.

Florival Baioa recalls the importance that the infrastructure would assume since “in this way it could stop the migratory flow, let our young people improve their future and give a little more happiness to these resistant people who are resisting around here”, leaving a wake-up call, remembering that “we need the strength of those elected to put pressure on the ANA and other elements so that, together, let's find the future, finished.

In opinion previously expressed, the Beja Merece+ Movement has always defended that “the use of Beja airport would allow, also, create jobs and stop desertification in a region that loses every year 1% of its population”.
