The favorable votes of PS elected officials, the abstentions of the “Beja Consegue” Coalition and the cons of the CDU, approved in the Municipal Assembly the Budget of the Beja Municipal Council for the year 2023.
The Budget and the Major Plan Options of the Municipality of Beja for the year 2023 were approved at yesterday's meeting of the Municipal Assembly, with 16 votes in favor of those elected from the PS, 13 votes against the CDU, including the presidents of Parish Councils and 4 abstentions from the “Beja Consegue” Coalition.
The budget, Over 62 million, had been approved at last day's Executive meeting 16 November, with the casting vote of the President of the Executive, in the face of the favorable votes of those elected from the Socialist Party, the abstention of the councilor from the “Beja Consegue” coalition and the contrary votes of the CDU councilors.
Of the works planned, the requalification of Municipal Roads 511 and 513, that connect Beja to Salvada and this locality to Quintos, with a planned budget of 2,5 million. The president of the Parish Union of Salvada and Quintos, Nelson Kitty, stated that “it is with great satisfaction and pleasure that we see the requalification of the two highways included in this budget”, concluded.
At the end of last week, the Executive revealed that the Specifications had been released to prepare an execution project (architecture and specialties) to the Dr Stadium space. The budget for 2023 is superior in 20 million euros this year and is the biggest since the PS returned to power in the Chamber of Beja under the leadership of Paulo Arsénio.
One day before the Beja City Council Executive meeting, the communists had issued a statement announcing that “CDU councilors vote against the Grand Options of the Plan and the Municipal Budget for 2023”, justifying that “the Municipal Budget presented, 2of the current mandate and 6th of this PT administration, confirm, lamentably, that the PS has no project or strategic vision for the municipality of Beja!".
