The Chamber of Beja promotes tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, the stop for “Father Christmas Arrival”, that goes, a partir the 15,00 hours, go through some of the city's arteries.
Having been advised by the Public Health Authorities to reduce or suspend/annul a set of activities planned for Christmas due to the fact that Beja is currently one of the 3 district counties at risk “Very high” incidence of COVID-19, the municipality maintained some of the Christmas initiatives.
It was decided to keep the “Father Christmas arrival” which will start roughly at 15.00 hours of next Wednesday day 08/12, National holiday, Avenida Miguel Fernandes, and which will take about an hour and a half through various arteries of the city, that will allow the public to distribute, until Santa Claus “install”, no end, in your house, located at Rua Capitão João Francisco de Sousa, where there will be circus performances.
In the morning and in the afternoon there will be street entertainment throughout the area by Magic Roger, by the Capricho Bejense Philharmonic Society Theater Group and by the Street Music Band “Seven Dixie”.
To 17.30 Christmas lights in the Historic Center should be turned on.
The "line sound", with Christmas carols, was extended further 3 streets covered for the first time: to Rua Gomes Palma, Rua Alfonso Costa (aka Rua das Lojas) and Rua D.Nuno Álvares Pereira.
Christmas market
After last year it did not take place, the autarchy had idealized that in 2021 the same would have five days, but, the situation of the municipality in the increase of cases of covid-19, reduced to 2 days.
The Christmas Market takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 17.30, free surface parking days, inviting a visit to the site.
