In addition to the Bejense River Park, the Tapada Grande de Mina de São Domingos was also recognized (Mértola) and twelve beaches in the municipality of Odemira.
Portugal has, this year, 431 beaches, Blue Flag marinas and vessels, 14 which district of Beja, award that distinguishes the areas with the greatest environmental concern in the country.
The Award given to more 32 places that last year, with the Algarve being the area of the country with the most, 98. The north of the country follows, with 85, and the Tagus area, between Nazareth and Sines, with 84. This year, the North crossed the Tagus.
The center (51), the Azores (49), or Alentejo (42) and Wood (28) complete the list of areas distinguished by Environmental Information and Education, Water quality, Environmental Management and Equipment, Security and Services, the criteria for awarding the award.
Beja District (14)
Beja (1 award-winning place): five reis, Mértola (1 award-winning place): Tapada Grande Reservoir of Mina de São Domingos and Odemira (12 award-winning venues): Almograve Norte, Almograve Sul, Alteirinhos, Carvalhal, Lighthouse, Franchise, Furnas, Furnas Sea, Furnas Rio, North Malhão, On Malhão, Santa Clara and Zambujeira do Mar.
District of Évora (5)
Alandroal (1 award-winning place): Azenhas D'El Rei Recreation and Leisure Area, Mourao (1 award-winning place): Mourão River Beach, Portel (2 award-winning venues) Amieira Beach and Alqueva River Beach and Reguengos de Monsaraz (1 award-winning place): Fluvial Beach of Monsaraz.
Alentejo coast (20)
Grândola (12 award-winning venues) New Open, Atlantic, Carvalhal, It involves, Gale-Fontainhas, Melides, Caught, Trojan-Spout Squid, Trojan-Gale, Trojan-Mar, Tróia Marina and Esperança, Santiago do Cacém (2 award-winning venues): Coast of Santo André and Fonte do Cortiço and Sines (6 award-winning venues): Grande of Porto Côvo, Pessegueiro Island, Morgavel, São Torpes, Vasco da Gama and Vieirinha-Vale de Figueiros.
As reported on the Blue Flag page, at Cinco Reis Beach, the Bathing Season and the Blue Flag Season, runs from 1 June and 30 of September.
