Beja: Terror on the loose at Bedeteca until Sunday.


For the second consecutive year, the Bedeteca de Beja promises to terrify all its visitors during a weekend, opening the afternoons and nights to the fantastic and the supernatural.

This is the II Horrible Beja – Horror Nights at Bedeteca, composed of a mix of cinema and comics, subordinate to that theme, from today until Sunday, whose poster this year is written by Rita Alfaiate.

The program, to be carried out at the Beja Vedetec – Beja Culture House, opens this friday, day 22, at 21:30, with the screening of the film “Dr's office. Caligari” (1920), the Robert Vienna, with presentation by Manuel Monteiro, who will return tomorrow, Saturday, at the same time, with “Moloch” (2022), the Nico van den Brink. The screening of both films is free..

On Saturday, before the second film, during the afternoon, there will be room for conversations with Osvaldo Medina (about your new book “once”); Rita Alfaiate (“Rita Alfaiate's Notebook”), Andrew Smith (“An adaptable artist”); João Morales (“Personal scares – Horror and Fantastic in Comics”); and Fil, Filipe Duarte and Marco Fraga da Silva (“Zona Magazine and other projects”).

Comic book horror is the common theme of the four exhibitions in that space: “Julio Shimamoto – Master of Horror”, about the work of that Brazilian author; “Werewolves and other myths”, de Andrew Smith; “Rita Alfaiate's Notebook” and “Black Zone”. On Saturday, after the film session, there will be a guided tour of these exhibitions.

The event also features a Horror and Fantastic Book Market, with the presence of publishers Escorpião Azul and Sendai and Associação Tentáculo.

Friday and Saturday the doors close to visitors at 9:15 pm. The program will continue inside, with visitors already present. On Saturday, the doors will open again to the public at 11:30 p.m., for guided tours, which will end at 1:00 am.

The four exhibitions will be open to the public until 31 of December, within the normal opening hours of the Casa da Cultura.
