Beja: Amadora drug dealers tried for drug trafficking. They supplied consumers from several municipalities in the region.

For six months, two individuals made regular trips between the Casal da Mira neighborhood, in Amadora, Beja, Ferreira do Alentejo and Aljustrel, to directly supply several consumers.

What they didn't know was that they were being followed by agents from the Criminal Investigation Squadron (EIC) PSP Beja.

João Semedo, of 33 years and Fábio Ramos, of 37 year old, were arrested on the afternoon of 22 June last year, after supplying consumers in the village of Rio de Moinhos, in Aljustrel municipality. The head of the scheme was João, which from a certain point began to count on the collaboration of Fábio, who was unemployed and without receiving any financial assistance.

The two defendants were caught in wiretaps arranging the sale of drugs and were monitored by agents from the Criminal Investigation Department (DIC) and the Amadora Police Division of the PSP, and were then followed and detained by EIC investigators after leaving the Motorway 2 (A2).

When they were approached, the two individuals had inside the vehicle where they were being transported, 187 doses of heroin and 653 doses of cocaine, Besides 305 Euro in cash and three mobile phones.

A house search was carried out at João Semedo's residence, 4.010 euros, 3.210 euros hidden in a bag, disguised as an ironing board and 800 euros hidden in a box inside a bedside table. To deceive the police, two precision scales were “camouflaged”: one hidden behind a mirror in a room and another in the trash can, in addition to a package with more than 600 grams of caffeine and acetaminophen, used as a cutting product.

Accused of the crime of drug trafficking, the two defendants were subjected to the most serious measure of coercion, Probation, which received the Prison Beja, where they await trial. However, for committing three crimes of driving without a legal license and one of forgery or forgery of documents, Fábio Ramos had been sentenced in 2020 and 2021, to two suspended sentences of 18 months every, having started to serve the aforementioned sentences one month after being in preventive.
