Fire department: Ladder vehicle 30 (VE30) with mechanical review offered.


Arrived in Beja last Monday, the ladder vehicle 30 (VE30) Firemen Beja Volunteers, underwent a mechanical overhaul. Two firms in the city made the offer.

After being subjected to a major repair and painting, the VE30 vehicle, underwent a mechanical overhaul before being subject to the annual inspection, having the companies António Jacinto-Oficina de Mecânica Geral and Ferjufilhos, from the agricultural branch, bear the costs of this work.

After having made a donation during the “Friends of BVBeja” campaign, the mechanics company offered the labor of its professionals, while the agricultural company purchased filters and oil for engine overhaul.

Antonio Jacinto, manager of António Jacinto-Oficina de Mecânica Geral, company that works on Rua da Lavoura since March 2022 and is responsible for the maintenance of vehicles sold by the Mitsubishi dealer, justified that “it is important that we help the firefighters of the city. Today they need our help, tomorrow we could be the ones needing them”, adding that “solidarity is an important value in life”, concluded.

In order to be operational, the VE30 will be subject to an annual inspection., required for all motor vehicles, light or heavy.

Remember that one year after it became inoperable, the ladder vehicle 30 arrived at the beginning of the week at the Beja Volunteer Fire Station, after being subjected to a major repair and painting.

The repair of the VE30 had a cost of 60 thousand euros, having been supported by the group of citizens “Amigos dos BVBeja” which contributed with 15.000 euros that joined the 30.000 euros from the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC) and 10.000 euros from the Municipality of Beja.
