Portuguese League Against Cancer (LPCC) promotes walks to mark month dedicated to breast cancer prevention – LPCC Southern Regional Center initiative takes place in 30 locations.
The Portuguese League Against Cancro - Southern Regional Center (LPCC-NRS) will streamline a set of walks in 30 South Portugal locations to mark the 'October Rose', The month dedicated to preventing breast cancer, whose healing rate is higher than 90% when diagnosed and treated early.
In the district of Beja the initiatives take place in Beja and Moura, tomorrow day 12, and Almodôvar and Mértola, a 19 October and the initiative of the LPCC - NRs expects to raise 1500 participants, whose donations will contribute to perform awareness and support actions for cancer and family patients.
The latest data on breast cancer, published by the Global Cancer Observatory of the World Health Organization and referring to 2022, in Portugal, estimate that about 9.000 women have been diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 2.000 have died with this disease.
