Castro Verde: Municipality creates Municipal Youth Council.


Castro Verde City Council approved the creation of the Municipal Youth Council (CMJCV), an advisory body that aims to promote the active participation of young people in the definition of municipal policies.

The CMJCV Regulation, Approved in the Session of the Municipal Assembly of the Day 4 February 2025, Establishes the guidelines, competences and operation of this Council, ensuring a space of dialogue between youth and municipal agencies.

The Municipal Youth Council will play a key role in the formulation and implementation of municipal policies aimed at young people, ensuring its articulation in several areas, as a job, professional qualification, housing, Education and Higher Education, culture, Sport and Social Action.

This new organ aims to represent and give voice to youth; deepen knowledge about social reality, economic and cultural and cultural; support and encourage youth associativism, ensuring its representation with the municipal bodies; Issue opinions on youth relevant matters, such as the municipal budget and specific regulations; promote initiatives and debates on topics of interest to the young population.

The Council will be composed of the mayor or councilman responsible for the Youth Pelro, members of the Municipal Assembly of each of the parties represented, one representative of each youth association based in the municipality, a representative of the associations of students of basic and secondary education, as well as a representative of each party youth organization with representation in the local agencies or in the Assembly of the Republic.

With the creation of this Council, the municipality intends to create a space for active and transparent participation, giving young people the opportunity to get fully involved in the political and social life of the municipality, contributing, thus, for a more dynamic county, inclusive and attentive to future generations.
