Castro Verde: commemoration of 50 Years of 25 April.

The Museum of Rurality opens the exhibition “Women from Campos do Sul, I Republic, Estado Novo and April Revolution.

As part of the celebrations of 50 Years of 25 April, in Castro Verde, inaugurates 8 March, at the Museum of Rurality, in Entries (18h00), the exposure “Women from Campos do Sul, I Republic, Estado Novo and April Revolution”.

The exhibition weaves a portrait of the lives of rural wage-earning women in Alentejo in these three important periods of the Portuguese 20th century, which highlights the subordination at work and in the family experienced by these women.

Reality naturalized by the dominant ideology that the April Revolution in the countryside cannot shatter by not welcoming, in the direction of rural unions and new agrarian reform production units, working women who in street demonstrations and gatherings, play a decisive role.

First in advancing the revolution in the fields and, after, in its defense when the legality dictated by the electoral results for the Assembly of the Republic is gradually putting an end to it.

The exhibition will be on display until 31 May, at the Museum of Rurality, in Entries.
