The Municipality of Castro Verde promotes, from this Friday, day 20 October, the presence of a cultural delegation in Toronto, In Canada, to participate in the 38th Alentejo Cultural Week of Casa do Alentejo.
Representing Castro Verde in Toronto will be the traditional Alentejo music group “Young men of Viola Campaniça”, constituted in 2016 and formed by Duarte Colaço, Guilherme Colaço, Miguel Gil, Miguel Guerreiro and Gabriel Costa. The delegation also includes the military painter Joaquim Rosa, which will showcase some of his works in the exhibition that will be on display at the Alberto de Castro Gallery.
The Presidents of the Chamber and Municipal Assembly of Castro Verde, António José Brito and Ilda Palminha, accompany this delegation that aims to consolidate friendship ties with the Alentejo community in Toronto and, of course, contribute to a greater diffusion of our culture and traditions in Canadian lands.
The Alentejo Cultural Week at Casa do Alentejo in Toronto takes place between 20 and 28 October, with a very diverse program where arts and Alentejo music shows predominate.
