Inconclusive meeting with ULSBA
Last Tuesday, the presidents of the Chambers of Castro Verde, Aljustrel, Almodovar, Mértola and Ourique, all led by socialist mayors, met with the ULSBA Board of Directors, which resulted in the decision to “request a meeting with the Minister of Health. This case needs to be resolved urgently.”, adding that “the municipalities help and give everything and the Government gives us a handful of nothing”, justified.
Issue generates “exchange of pennants”, between AD (PSD-CDS) and PS.
The deputy elected by AD district of Beja, Gonçalo Valente, went public to accuse the mayors of the five socialist municipalities of “when they were in power based on a hegemonic position, holding 10 municipalities and having 2 MEPs, I have never seen them put their foot down against their Government”, maintaining that “we are faced with a case of little seriousness and respect for those who do and give the most every day. There is the desire to attack the Government”, concluded the former president of the PPD/PSD District.
Carlos Teles, President of the Municipality of Aljustrel, responded to Gonçalo Valente's criticism and accused him of being “not very attentive and careless”, because he has always been an active voice “since the time the Government was PS”, remembering that at that time the Municipality created incentives for hiring doctors, among others.
