As part of the VII Anniversary of the classification of Cante Alentejano as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, Castro Verde City Council promotes since 5 November, the first edition of the Poetry Contest “Sing Ours”.
The contest is divided into two specific categories. – General (greater than 18 year old) and Youth Revelation (young people between 14 and 17 year old) – and aims to stimulate creativity, value the literary production, foster writing and reading habits, and reward the production of original poetry, having as a mandatory theme the Cante Alentejano.
Works must be delivered by 5:00 pm, do dia 19 November 2021 (see Rules of Participation).
The top three in each category will be awarded a cash prize. (General: 1 award – 500,00 €; 2First prize – 250,00 €; 3First prize – 150,00 €; Youth Revelation: 1First prize – 250,00 €; 2First prize – 100,00 €; 3First prize – 50,00 €). The remaining participants will be given a participation prize..
Winners will be announced one day 27 November, Day of the Anniversary of Cante World Heritage Site, under the initiative “Conversations and Fashions: The Cante of the county”, to be held at 4:00 pm, no Cineteatro Municipal de Castro Verde.
