When the first year of the second municipal term of the PS was fulfilled in the municipality of Beja, the CDU maintains that “four more from the previous mandate are added to this”.
In a statement, the councilors elected by the Unitarian Democratic Coalition (CDU) argue that “after five years of the PS management, remains unanswered and without evidence a fundamental question: What project and strategic vision does the PS have for Beja? ?"
The communists defend that “contrary to the propaganda that is frequently presented to us by the PS, the county languishes and the city of Beja sinks into total inertia, losing, even to neighboring counties, attractiveness and leadership capacity to assert itself as an engine of the region”. The CDU’s elected officials say that “the PS executive did not draw any lessons from the electoral results, which removed the absolute majority, and the votes and mandates attributed to the PSD have not contributed to the implementation of measures that reverse this scenario”.
The CDU considers that “it is sad to see, but it's reality: Beja does not count for the Government and, about this, there is a deafening silence from the PS executive in the Chamber of Beja”, comparing the management of PS and CDU, conclude that: “in the recent past, Beja was able to create a dynamic in the area of culture that made it a national reference.. Not present, the total absence of a cultural policy, demonstrated in the application submitted by the municipality to finance the programming of PAX Julia – Municipal Theater, ranked nationally as one of the worst.”, justify.
CDU elected officials at the Beja City Council, Vitor Picado, Fátima Estanque and Rui Eugénio have no doubts about pointing the finger at PS management: “the balance of this first year of the present mandate is, above all: worrying. All the more so as to add to 4 years of inaction”, ensuring that they will continue to propose in the bodies where they are represented, alternatives that contradict socialist decisions.
