CEBAL: EMAS presiding over the direction of the body.
They took possession of the new Social CEBAL Bodies – Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Agro-Food Alentejo.
The presidency of this body is in charge of EMAS, Empresa Municipal Water and Sanitation Beja, edia taking one of the vice presidents of this body.
The CEBAL is a unit of private research and development, non-profit, headquartered in Beja and develops its activity in connection with the local economic fabric, taking as its starting point the characteristics and potential of the region in which it operates, namely agriculture.
The activity of CEBAL is structured to develop applied research priority, seeking to identify issues with potential impact on the economy of the region and propose biotechnological solutions to problem solving, production optimization and product certification.
The activity center is, also, directed to identify and develop new opportunities that may be applicable to the particular region in the areas of plant production, in animal production, processing and improvement of agricultural and food products, in the implementation of processes to obtain added value from by-products and waste and in search of forms of recovery of traditional raw materials.
The CEBAL-Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Agro-Food Alentejo celebrates this year the 11th anniversary of Science and Technology of activity, having been established in 2008, working on the premises of the Agrarian School of Beja (ESAB), Campus not IPBeja.
