CEBAL: Restarted construction work on the new Valorization Center building.


Yesterday, the construction works of the new building of the Technology Transfer and Valorization Center in Beja were restarted (CVTTB) that had been stopped since the middle of last December.

As the Lidador News (LN) reported the 13 of December, works started a month before, but were interrupted to carry out new depth soundings.

At the time and according to information from the Municipality of Beja, the project promoter, “the beginning of the excavations for the work revealed that the depth would have to be greater than that stated in the project. That is why the designer carried out new surveys, the results of which are awaited”, justified.

Yesterday on social media, the president of the municipality justified that “the day has come. The future of CEBAL started today. We turn projects into reality, adding that with the new building “better working conditions are created to seek to settle more scientific researchers in the region. Located next to the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, it guarantees the maintenance of the close connection between CEBAL and higher education in Beja”, concluded.

The space will have more than 1.000 m² of construction area, next to 1.200 m² of usable area, an investment 1.500.000,00 of euros, with a deadline of 540 work days.

The application was presented by the Municipality of Beja, results from a partnership with CEBAL and the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, the Regional Operational Program Alentejo 2020, which brought together a disruptive and strategic vision of Science for the Territory. A science with social impact, economic, cultural and environmental, which helps to enhance the attractiveness of new investments, knowledge-based, valuing an economy based on endogenous resources and emerging activities with a high technological index.
