OR CEBAL – Alentejo Agricultural and Agro-food Biotechnology Center, in partnership with the Alentejo Regional Wine Commission (CVRA) and the Serpa Economic Development Support Center (fall), holds the seminar, "Circular Bioeconomy not Wine Sector".
After Beja and Portalegre, the event will take place today at the Serpa Economic Development Support Center (fall), Serpa, with the main objective of raising awareness among a greater number of producers in the wine sector, through sharing knowledge and experiences, academic and business, in order to contribute to the development of a Circular Economy in the region.
The Municipality of Serpa, as a public services management entity, “sees the dissemination and awareness of society with great importance”, on the topic of Circular Economy. Address it, proves to be important for implementing strategies linked to sustainability, both for a better “use of resources and products”, as for “the creation of jobs and settlement of populations”.
The process “will allow us to reduce waste and waste, transforming them or incorporating them into production processes”, that make it possible to “generate economic value and create new processes, internal or external to the company itself”.
In the wine sector, “there has always been reuse and recycling”, however, in the face of “new environmental paradigms, economic conditions and more demanding legislation”, It is crucial to “make circularity and recycling, integral parts of management, both economic and environmental”, completes the Municipality of Serpa.
