Cycling: Grand Prix BrigRR will be played today at the Military Airfield Tancos.
More than a hundred soldiers of the Rapid Reaction Brigade (BriggRR) and other army units and even Cândido Barbosa and Hernani Broco, Award winners “Self-denial” da Volta a Portugal, participate today in the Grand Prix of BrigRR, in cycling.
The Great BrigRR of Cycling Awards will be held with the participation of soldiers from all units of the Brigade and other units of the Army who want to participate, and each athlete can only participate in the respective ranking. The race consists of a route with a length of about 52 km, (10 turns 5.2 Km) traveled in a closed circuit within the Military Airfield Tancos area (AMT). The match will take place in front of the main building of AMT Control Tower where the starting and finishing gantries are installed.
During the course of proof, each athlete is responsible for maintaining your bike, not being allowed any outside help, not having the mechanical assistance event, aka neutral support cars. As the classification is according to the following: Overall Individual Classification – 1º, 2Th e 3rd place; Individual rating level (1º male ranking up 40 year old, 2º male level over 40 years and female ranking) – 1º, 2Th e 3rd place.
Joni Brandao, National Road runner-up, EFAPEL runner and winner of the Prize “Self-denial” da Volta a Portrugal de 2015, will make a tandem parachute jump, carrying the Yellow Jersey, to the winner of the Grand Prix of BrigRR.
