The Portuguese Air Force (FAP) organize until day 14 October, the 58th edition of the Military Cross Country Championships, which is set at the Air Base (BA) Nº11, in Beja.
The competition, the first that is disputed in our country, will gather more than 300 athletes from 32 countries, who will compete in the male sectors, female and in a mixed relay. Portugal a team composed of 22 cutting specialists, representing the three branches of the Armed Forces and also the GNR and PSP.
Under the supervision of the International Military Sports Council (CISM-International Military Sports Council), the organization is the responsibility of the FAP and the Physical Education and Military Sports Commission of the Directorate-General for National Defense Resources, which has the sponsorship and support of the Municipality of Beja.
The delegations arrived in Portugal yesterday, via Humberto Delgado Airport, followed by transport from Lisbon to BA11 or by own aircraft to the Beja Terminal or BA11. To reach Portuguese soil, the delegation from Chile traveled 10.106 kilometers, the Peru 8.830, the equator 8.413, the India 8.232 and Brazil 7.435 kms.

Short-Mato Feminino (8 kms)- 106 athletes from 24 countries: Germany, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, France, Italy, Kenya, Latvia, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine and Venezuela.
Estafeta Mista (4x2kms)- 80 athletes from 20 countries: Germany, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy, Kenya, Latvia, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sweden and Venezuela.
The competition will be open to the outside as the organization invited athletes from the clubs of the Beja Athletics Association to attend one of the days of the competitions and on Thursday morning, there will be a School Cross Country where they will participate 150 students from 9th to 12th from schools in Beja.
