The situation in the municipality of Beja is alarming, in view of the constant rise in covid-19 cases in the last days. Between the 24 hours from last friday to the same time as yesterday, 24 of December, chance has risen more than 75,8%, passing 120 to 211 the number of infected.
According to the daily report (Daily report 25-12-2020) of the Local Health Unit of Baixo Alente (ULSBA), the number of infected has gone up 75,8% in the district capital and 76,2% in the Vidigueira municipality. Between the 24,00 hours of Friday and 24,00 hours yesterday, 24 of December, the number of active cases in the municipality of Beja 120 to 211 and in Vidigueira it went from 93 to 122 infetados.

The situation was detected as a result of a visit by a user to the Beja Hospital, which was identified as a Covid-19 positive case, being the same interned.
The Municipality of MĂ©rtola decided to set up at the Municipal Sports Pavilion a “field hospital” (na photos), where the village Volunteer Firefighters transported the users of that institution. Given the proximity of the home and the pavilion, a plastic sleeve and tents were installed to allow the transport of the patients safely.
