The Secretaries of State for Health and Defense were in Beja and after a visit to the Covid Reception Center at BA11, met with mayors at ULSBA.
In order to assess the situation of the Covid19 pandemic in our region, the mayors of Baixo Alentejo gathered, by conference call, with the Deputy State and Health Secretaries (António Lacerda Sales) and Deputy and National Defense (Jorge Sanches Insurance).
The meeting was also attended by representatives of Health, Social Security and District Civil Protection.
In the first part of the meeting, a presentation was made by the President of ABC - Algarve Biomedical Center (Dr. Nuno Marques) on the work carried out by this Center, namely in the Lower Alentejo, in close partnership with CIMBAL and its municipalities.
The President of the Board of Directors of ULSBA - Baixo Alentejo Local Health Unit, Conceição Margalha, presented the evolution of the pandemic in the territory of Baixo Alentejo and the resources that the NHS has to act in this pandemic context.
The Secretaries of State made the state of play regarding Covid 19 and the short / medium term prospects for the possible evolution of the pandemic. They also answered the various questions posed by the mayors.
CIMBAL-Intermunicipal Community of Baixo Alentejo justifies that “will continue to support its municipalities and the rest of the territory in this difficult period of our collective life, contributing to the best solutions in the face of complex problems facing us”.
