After the Espadanal, tests are carried out in the Vale do Touro community, Moura. The decision was made by the Public Health Unit, after the case of the pregnant woman who went to live in Alqueva was known.
The Municipal Civil Protection Service of Moura (SMPCM) issued a statement informing that, “the Public Health Authority of the Baixo Alentejo Local Health Unit (ULSBA) decided to perform tests, for COVID-19, to the entire community residing in Vale do Touro, in the municipality of Moura”.
The SPTCM justifies that this decision is due to the fact that the said community has been in direct contact with a woman, resident in the municipality of Portel, which tested positive for the new Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2″, revealing that the tests will be carried out over the weekend: “this Saturday to children and youth and tomorrow, Sunday, adults will be tested”, ends.
The Municipal Civil Protection Service of Moura adds that “monitor the performance of the tests and, in conjunction with the GNR and the Social Security Institute, will provide all necessary support to the Vale do Touro community, during the confinement period”.

A story that involves a couple who left Vale do Touro to Alqueva.
It all started with the announcement by the Hospital of the Holy Spirit of Évora (HESE) that a pregnant woman infected with Covid-19 had been sent from Hospital José Joaquim Fernandes, in Beja, due to the lack of conditions of this last hospital.
It was later learned that the woman had been transported from the village of Alqueva to HESE by the Portel Volunteer Firefighters, but that the address of the wife and husband would be in Moura.
Later, the Municipal Service of Civil Protection of Moura issued a statement clarifying that “since the confirmation of this positive case, the SMPCM together with the Public Health Authority, initiated all contacts regarding this situation”, justifying that the parturient in question “is residing in the municipality of Portel, from day 6 April”, justified.
Through the Municipal Civil Protection Service, the Municipality of Moura, chaired by socialist Ãlvaro Azedo, assumed that “always speaking truth, will continue to inform its population, whenever new data are available for the municipality”, finished.
Remember that yesterday HESE revealed that “the first baby from the Alentejo region was born whose mother is infected with covid-19. Born by caesarean section, day 14 April night, and both mother and baby are doing well. The pregnant, from the district of Beja, was referred to the HESE Obstetrics Service, by the Baixo Alentejo Local Health Unit, for this Unit to understand that it does not meet the necessary conditions for the performance of this delivery â€.
The Lidador News (LN) reaffirms that although the couple, involved in the situation, be residing since last day 6 April, in the Portel municipality, more specifically in Alqueva, has the official residence in Union of Parishes of Moura and Santo Amador, in a place located 3 kms from “Salúquia Cityâ€.
Contrary to what was revealed by the Évora Hospital, LN confirmed to a ULSBA source that the woman “was accompanied during the pregnancy period at the HJJF, but the parturient never entered the services of José Joaquim Fernandes Hospital (HJJF), in Beja, so it could never have been sent from this unit to any other health unit â€.
