COVID-19: DGS “studies” on a different table than the one used in the district of Beja.
Data from the DGS reports on the municipalities of Moura, Serpa and Beja, continue to differ from those presented by the mayors.
From 24 March, day when the first case of Covid-19 was known in the district of Beja, an emigrant returned from France, as address in Almodôvar, the figures released in the daily brifing, the District Operational Coordinating Center (CCOD) and the reports of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) have never been compatible.
The most disparate cases are registered in Moura counties, Serpa and Beja, namely, with the number of recovered. In this Wednesday's report, DGS presents 80 people as infected in those three counties, but, the mayors contacted by JN speak in 52, as the total number of active patients.
To be done on the data revealed every day by the Minister or Secretary of State for Health, in the three most populous counties in the district there are only 3 recovered patients, when in fact this number amounts to more than four dozen of what government officials say. Also in relation to the maximum number of infected, those revealed by the DGS report are far from those of CCOD and mayors. National authorities speak of 80, while regional ones in 96.
Moura is the municipality where numbers are more distorted, since the maximum value was 66 Covid-19 cases struck last day 29 April, Wednesday's report reaffirms a maximum of 54 patients. If we remove the maximum number of patients 26 cases revealed as recovered, in the Moorish council there are only 40 active cases. The recovered patients were transmitted by the Public Health Authority to the Municipal Civil Protection Service.
In the municipality of Serpa on the day 23 April there were 19 positive cases, day when the recovery of 6 patients. DGS gave a maximum of infected 18 people and today continue 15 in that state. As revealed by the Mayor of Serpa, "the 19 infetados, There 10 recovered and 9 active", very distinct numbers.
Finally the case of Beja, where the “multiplication table” to add and subtract, does not match that of DGS. The Mayor of Beja revealed to Lidador Notícias (LN) that since 14 April, date two positive cases were confirmed in a nursing home, what, in the county, there is no record of more patients with COVID-19 ”, finished. That day the maximum was reached in the municipality 11 cases, number that only today DGS gave as confirmed.
Yesterday Paulo Arsénio justified that “of these, for us 11 cases, there is to regret 1 death and, the good news, already there 7 recovered, there are three assets ”, concluded.
Also in relation to the first fatal victim, its disclosure occurred 48 hours after the death of a 87 year old, do Lar Nobre Freire, occurred at Hospital de Beja. LN reported the case on 20 April, only the next day did ARSAlentejo and the Local Health Unit confirm it and two days later the same happened with DGS.
