Covid-19: More 2 positive cases and more 70 tests in Póvoa de São Miguel.


Two more infected in Póvoa de São Miguel (Moura), which raises to 28 the total number of cases in the village and 44 in the county. Today more 70 tests in that location.

Two new positive cases of covid-19 were detected 28 the total infected by the outbreak in the village of Póvoa de São Miguel, in the municipality of Moura (Beja), as reported by the Municipal Civil Protection Service (SMPC).

The two inhabitants who had symptoms were tested, at the hospital in Beja, having presented a positive result according to the revelation of the Public Health Authority of the Local Health Unit of Baixo Alentejo.

The first four positive cases in the village were detected almost 15 days, having tests performed during the last week, allowed the detection of more 22 positive cases, and with the two new cases disclosed, are now, 28 infected people in Póvoa de São Miguel.

A patient from Póvoa de São Miguel and two people from Amareleja are hospitalized in Beja hospital, also in the municipality of Moura, where there are, currently, 10 cases of infection, indicated Diogo Saraiva.

The update made by the Municipal Civil Protection Service refers to, globally, the municipality of Moura has 84 recovered cases, 50 under active surveillance in the home by contact with infected and 44 active cases of covid-19, registering up 5 Moura, 10 in Amareleja, 28 in Póvoa de São Miguel and 1 in Santo Aleixo da Restoration.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 128 positive cases of covid-19, the municipality of Moura was the one that registered more cases in Alentejo, after the municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz.

Today ULSBA conducts tests in Póvoa de São Miguel

The Municipal Civil Protection Service reported that they will be held this Tuesday, 28 July, next to 70 tests to COVID-19 in Póvoa de São Miguel.

These tests will be carried out on people who have had direct contact with the cases already confirmed in this location.

The collection of biological material will be carried out by ULSBA – Local unit of the Lower Alentejo Health, with the support of the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Moura and Póvoa de São Miguel Parish Council.
