According to the bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), between 24 February and 9 March, the Beja district has seven counties among those with the highest incidence of infected covid-19. Serpa is the first in the continent.
Serpa (517), at extreme risk, Vidigueira (272), Ferreira do Alentejo (191), Mértola (163), Beja (158), Aljustrel (146) and Moura (131) at very high risk, are among the counties with more than 120 cases / 100 thousand inhabitants a 14 days, the first two being the only ones above the “red lineâ€, more than 240 cases, set by government and health experts.
Below the 120 cases are the remaining seven counties, Alvito (0), Castro Verde (0), Almodovar (15), Canyons (61), Ourique (65), Odemira (101), Cuba (109), the first three are below the 60 cases, the goal outlined by the experts.

According to the daily report (Daily report 15-03-2021) the Local Health Unit of Baixo Alentejo (ULSBA) concerning 24,00 horas do dia 14 March, in the thirteen municipalities in its management area, except Odemira, There registration of 1 new confirmed case, a total of 138 active, with 5 patients admitted to the Infirmary and 0 in Intensive Care at Beja Hospital. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 6.644 confirmed covid-19 cases, 6239 recovered and 247 dead.
