Alvito is considered “clean municipality”, taking into account that it is zero in all chapters: in positive cases, active, recovered and deaths.
Beja is the municipality with the highest number of deaths, fourteen in total, 10 of which occurred in two homes between 20 and 30 October. The remaining five victims occurred in Moura and Ourique, with two dead each and one in Almodôvar.

Of 213 active cases in the thirteen municipalities, Beja with the referred 136, is the county most affected, followed by Ferreira do Alentejo with 23, mercy of an outbreak of 20 foreign workers, on a farm in the village of Santa Margarida do Sado, then Serpa with 19 and Cuba with 11. Below the dozen cases are Mértola with 6 cases, Aljustrel with 5, Moura, Ourique and Castro Verde with 3 each, Almodôvar with 2 and Barrancos and Almodôvar with one case each and finally Alvito, which is now the only “clean” municipality of covid-19.
As for inpatients there are 24 infetados, 21 in the ward and three in the Intensive Care Unit (UCI), being 806 people on active surveillance. Of patients who have passed through Beja Hospital infected with covid-19 44 have already been discharged.
CIMBAL reveals that since the beginning of the pandemic, in the thirteen counties, a total of 803 infected and 569 recovered, the number of confirmed or unconfirmed is 6638 cases. Beja is the municipality where the most cases of covid-19 were registered, in total 385, followed by Moura with 168, Serpa with 59 and Ourique with 52 cases. The remaining nine municipalities have less than fifty positive, with Cuba registering 32 infetados, Ferreira do Alentejo has 31, Mértola with 25 and Aljustrel and Almodôvar present 17 each, those who have more cases.
Knowing the seriousness of the situation in the region, CIMBAL calls for “the serenity is maintained and all the recommendations of the Directorate-General for Health are fulfilled”.
