One month after the death of Rui Nabeiro, his son João Manuel Nabeiro becomes chairman of the group.
On Wednesday, day passed a month after the death of the founder of Delta Cafés, it was announced that João Manuel Nabeiro, son of Rui Nabeiro, assumed the position of president of the Campo Maior group. Speaking to FORBES, remembered the one he called “my dear boss” and assured that “succeeding my father in the company is a position that I am very honored”.
As the eldest in the family, “I have the responsibility of honoring the principles and values that my father enunciated and that we, with all the love and dedication, we will have to continue to think that it is our solution and our life”.
Asked about the imprint he intends to instil in the company as chairman, was peremptory in stating that it will be “the pursuit of the legacy and values that have always guided the family and that our employees have also always followed”.. We will have to face new situations that will arise over time. But I am sure that the family will be very aware of all these situations”.
Rui Miguel Nabeiro: “My grandfather is irreplaceable”
The executive president of Delta Cafés and grandson of the businessman, Rui Miguel Nabeiro, remembered his grandfather and took the opportunity to leave a thank you to the Portuguese for the wave of affection and tribute they brought to the family.
Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of the new Delta Espresso store, no LoureShopping, the CEO of Delta Cafés assumed that Rui Nabeiro “is missed in everything” and that it would be a day when the Commander would be, surely, at the Delta Espresso store in the LoureShopping shopping center. “A figure like him is irreplaceable. We miss you a lot”, said Rui Miguel Nabeiro. The manager underlined that “it is still symbolic today, on this date, we are doing this inauguration. We want to show vitality, that the company is alive, that will continue and that his work is a very important legacy for the family, for the community”.
For Rui Miguel Nabeiro, the grandfather “was a unique figure who gathered everything in a single person. we are going to have to, together, put it all together. We have a very good capacity for alignment and collective work and, surely, let's continue this work the way he would like, but also the way we are able to do it”.
The manager thanked the Portuguese for “the affection, the attention, the friendship and love they showed for my grandfather. That's today's big message. Thank you for this incredible way that made us emotional. I knew that one day it would happen to have this manifestation. But honestly I think it far exceeded my expectations”.
