The “IT’S CHRISTMAS IN BEJA” campaign, promoted by the Municipality begins with the beginning of 30 November with the inauguration of the traditional Christmas lighting.
According to Lidador Notícias, municipal investment in Christmas lighting is 80.934 euros (VAT included), an investment is identical to the previous year, such as illuminated air. The lights will be turned on in the day 30 November, with the exception of the company that is assembling them, get the assembly ready.
The entire program has not yet been revealed by the Municipality, but, It is now possible to learn about some of the scheduled initiatives.
Christmas Market
Local: Downtown Beja, dates: 6 a 8 December 2024 and 13 a 15 December 2024, Opening hours: from 10h00 to 19h00, Friday to Sunday.
Digital photography contest
Photographs registered during the É CHRISTMAS IN BEJA campaign, which runs from 30 November 2024 a 6 January 2025. The deadline for receiving works is the day 17 January 2025. The selected works will be publicly displayed on the Beja City Council portal, a partir de 14 February 2025. The works in competition will be selected by 30 photographs for an exhibition to be held by the Municipality of Beja at ‘É CHRISTMAS IN BEJA’ – 2025, on a date and place to be designated.
Watch contest
It will take place from 18 November 2024 a 31 January 2025, according to the schedule: of 18 de novembro a 4 December – registration period, of 6 of the December 23 December – period in which the auctioned showcases must, during opening hours, be on display properly decorated. During this period, public voting e a 31 January – publication of the classifications resulting from public voting.
The “IT’S CHRISTMAS IN BEJA” contest
It will take place between the day 30 November 2024 It's the day 06 January 2025 (until 12pm) and consists of a draw of twenty prizes offered by the city hall and companies operating in the municipality of Beja.
It is intended for all people, of age, who make purchases worth, at least, € 20,00 (In the “Christmas is in Local Commerce” campaign) in local commerce in Beja in the mentioned period of time. For every € 20,00 shopping at local businesses, the customer is entitled to a participation coupon that will be given to them upon presentation of the shopping receipt at Santa Claus's house, this must be duly completed (for example: € 20,00 entitles you to a coupon; € 40,00 two coupons, and so on).
Father Christmas arrival
It will happen to 7 December by 15,00 hours with entry on Avenida Miguel Fernandes and the parade through various arteries of the city to the Santa Claus House.
Parking
During the “IT’S CHRISTMAS IN BEJA” campaign, the Municipality offers 3 hours of free parking in the underground car park and 1 hours in surface parking.
