The “It’s Christmas in Beja” initiative is back to promote and boost local commerce until the day 6 January.
Between 7 and 10 of December, from 10h00 to 19h00, the traditional Christmas Market, over 70 artisans and traders who bring us a huge diversity of crafts, agri-food products, natural cosmetics, illustration, solidarity actions, books and other, contributes to promoting trade and local producers.
This Christmas season, When shopping in traditional stores, you are eligible for many prizes and can also enjoy three hours of free parking a day in the covered car park on Av.. Miguel Fernandes, and one hour free in surface parking – by inserting the vehicle registration number into the parking meter.
Tuk-tuk tours, between days 7 and 24 of December, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, booked in advance at Casa do Santa Claus.
Free parking 2 of the December 6 January (3 hours in the underground parking-Avenida Miguel Fernandes) and 1 hour in surface parking (upon registration).
Music in the historic center, Christmas Market, street entertainment, yoga for babies and children, living statues, giant king cake, Santa's house, prizes for those who shop in traditional commerce, workshops and photography exhibition, contests, among other activities.
Santa's new house, in Jardim do Bacalhau, invites everyone to write a postcard to Santa Claus, decorating the wishing tree with pieces of fabric that represent a dream, a desire or hope for something better, playing in the Christmas Forest and taking photos with Santa Claus. This is where the coupons awarded by each 20 euros from purchases in traditional commerce will have to be deposited by anyone wishing to qualify for the Christmas draw. This space full of magic, where lots of games will delight the youngest, it is open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (closes on days 17, 18, 25/12 and 1 and 2/01/24)..
On 8, at 15:00, the Father Christmas Arrival, this year celebrates the theme in the “Ice Kingdom”. A series of characters will lead the public into the enchanted world of Christmas. The Parade will be made up of elf musicians, the Sorcerer and the Ice Queen, ballerina fairies with luminous wings, “Being” on the ice with contact ball handling, elves and Santa Claus with real beards!
At the end of the itinerary through the historic center of Beja, next to Santa's new house, in Jardim do Bacalhau, there will be a show with live music and circus arts (juggling, balancing act, fire and cold hand pyrotechnics and ground and aerial acrobatics – depending on the availability of elements) and choreographies for children to dance with the performers.

Like other years, There will be a window competition and a photography competition that captures the best angles of our historic center ‘decked out’ with lighting alluding to the festive season and the brightness of these days in the city.
