EDIA joined the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, ML Consultoria and OLIVUM for the creation of the Postgraduate course “Sustainable Management of the Olive Sector”.
This Graduate, whose public presentation will take place on 5 May, by 14:30h., via Zoom, aims to contribute to the updating of knowledge and acquisition of new skills by technicians in the sector.
The contribution that Alqueva made to irrigated agriculture in the region, allowed the installation of more than 64 thousand hectares of new olive groves, and with them the exponential increase in olive oil production (the Alentejo is responsible for ¾ of the olive oil produced in Portugal).
This new reality requires an increase in the qualification of the actors in the field as well as a responsible and sustainable approach to activities related to the sector..
The main objective of this postgraduate course is to improve the qualification of human resources in order to respond to the new challenges and opportunities of the olive sector..
A EDIA, following the actions and studies developed in favor of a sustained and sustainable management of the entire Alqueva project, encourages and joins this initiative, fundamental for a future where the economy and the environment find their balance point in coexistence.
