EDIA: Company published the 10th edition of the Alqueva Agricultural Yearbook.


The Agricultural Yearbook Alqueva aims to provide a framework, as clear as possible, of existing production systems and potential in Alqueva, in order to assist farmers in the area and investors in developing sustainable agricultural activities.

Celebrating its tenth edition with the publication regarding 2024, Alqueva's Agricultural Yearbook reaffirms Edia's commitment to provide detailed information on existing and potential production systems in the Alqueva region.

With a comprehensive approach, The yearbook systematizes data on different cultures and varieties with high agricultural potential in Alqueva, analyzing their economic profitability and the variable trends of national and international markets.

The document aims to support farmers, technicians and investors interested in the development of sustainable agricultural practices, contributing to informed and strategic decisions.

The Development of Multiple Purposes of Alqueva (EFMA), currently with 130 thousand hectares in exploration, ongoing an expansion phase that provides for the installation of more 25 hectares.

Alqueva expansion not only strengthens the productive capacity of the region, as it also requires increasingly efficient and sustainable management of water, essential for agricultural resilience and adaptation to climatic conditions.

The elaboration of this document results from the collection of information about the different cultures, with specialists, producers in the region, articles and other published literature and made available by the various sector entities. Data were also consulted and the information available from the National Institute Statistics (INE), Planning and Policy Office (GPP) and other institutions linked to the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAP).
