Education: Brothers have more priority to study at the same school.
Dispatch published reports that, at the time of enrollment for schools and education, Priority should be given to students who already have siblings that establishment.
The criterion of “priority between siblings who wish to attend the same school” is now more important when enrolling in educational establishments. This is one of the conclusions of Normative Order No. 7-B/2015 of 7 May.
In article 9, 10º and 11º of the document, which refer to “priorities in enrollment or renewal of enrollment” in pre-school education, basic education and secondary education, it is said that priority should be given to children and young people with siblings already attending that establishment.
The Secretary of State for Basic and Secondary Education had already sent a letter to the Portuguese Association of Large Families (APFN) a 14 April in which he stated that the Ministry of Education and Science was to equate it.
Luís Filipe Santos said they were "aware of the difficulties of family management, especially when it comes to large families ", after the association insisted on putting in the same school of brothers schoolchildren. In this letter it was manifested the intention now confirmed. Enrollment for the next school year started 15 April and last until 15 June.
