The creation of "Social and Industrial Tariffs" are two of the novelties in the tariff for 2022. EMAS presents new solutions with enormous benefits and social impacts for citizens and the industrial sector.
Water and waste services are essential to the general well-being of citizens, to public health, to economic activities and the protection of the environment and, should promote an increase in efficiency and effectiveness in their service provision, taking into account the recommendations of the sector regulator, the protection of the rights and interests of users and ensuring the existence of conditions that allow the achievement of the economic and financial balance of their activities.
In this context, EMAS de Beja considered it necessary to change the current tariff, more specifically with the removal of tariffs related to "New contract", "Transfer (change of ownership)", "Change of holder resulting from proof of user quality", with the creation in the variable component of the water supply and sanitation tariff of a first tier resulting from the elimination of the first tier and its merger with the second tier , and with the creation of the "Social Tariff" and "Industrial Tariff" , non-existent and considered necessary in the current socio-economic context.
It should be noted that there was no change in the tariff values ​​that were in force in the previous year, keeping them in the tariff for 2022, which takes effect from 01 January 2022 and is available for consultation on the EMAS de Beja website.
