EMAS: Beja improves and increases the reliability of the public water supply.


In a statement, EMAS de Beja recalls that the contract for the “Reinforcement of the Reliability of the Adduction to Beja” contract was signed.

For the company, this is “an important undertaking that will guarantee the resilience of the supply system, through the execution of a new adduction (conduct) to the city between the ETA da Magra and the Falcões Reservoirs, a pumping system consisting of a pumping station, expansion of the reserve of the Falcões Reservoir and an adduction in a lift conduit to the Conceição Reservoir, among other substitutions and alterations necessary for the proper functioning of the network”.

A strategic intervention, in line with meeting the objectives of expanding the water supply capacity, improving not only the availability for human consumption, as well as the redoubled supply guarantee, which will simultaneously allow expansion for industrial purposes and services, by increasing the storage capacity and supply of water.

The contract resulting from a public tender between AgdA – Águas Públicas do Alentejo and the company Gr4PT, to whom the contract was awarded, has the value of 2.633.776,00 euros and an execution period of 365 days.

Remember that Águas Públicas do Alentejo is a public partnership between the State and the Municipalities, among which Beja holds the majority position. This partnership has allowed and made possible direct and indirect investment in the municipality so far., superior a 20 million.
