Embraer: Portuguese pilots went to Brazil to train on the KC-390.


The Portuguese Air Force (FAP) sent to Brazil a group of pilots-aviators who will fly with the new aircraft. FAP is getting closer and closer to receiving its first Embraer KC-390.

The FAP ordered 5 Embraer KC-390 Millenium aircraft to replace the current Lockheed Martin C-130 Hércules, which are the main freighters in Portugal.

The Brazilian manufacturer informed in a publication on social networks that it is “honored to receive the 1st FAP training group at the Embraer Academy, No brazil", including pilots, load operators and maintenance technicians.

The first KC-390 from Portugal should be delivered later this year to the Portuguese. Beyond, other European countries bought the aircraft and are also members of NATO: Hungary and Netherlands.

A Base Aérea N.º 11, in Beja, was the stage of the event “Users Group C-390â€, a meeting for cooperation, collaboration and knowledge sharing on the C-390 aircraft.

Representatives of Austria participate in the event, from Brazil, from hungary, Czech Republic and the Netherlands.

It is recalled that the Portuguese State acquired five KC-390 aircraft and a simulator from Embraer, with the first Portuguese aircraft being presented at the end of 2022.

Until the end of the year, the Air Force will receive the first KC-390 aircraft, which is currently in the certification phase.
