State of calamity: Control at land borders.


A partir das 00,00 Sunday hours there are limitations when crossing borders with Spain, except for freight. There 12 secondary borders in Alentejo that should be closed.

The Government determined that as of 00:00 tomorrow, day 31 January 2021, and until 11:59 pm on the day 14 February 2021.

According to the government order published yesterday in Diário da República, the Vila de Ficalho-Rosal de la Frontera border is open every day of the week, uninterruptedly and Barrancos-Encinasola on the weekdays of the 07:00 to h 09:00 h e the 18:00 to h 20:00 hours

In the context of the epidemiological situation caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the exceptional measures adopted to deal with the disease COVID-19, replacement was instituted, exceptionally and temporarily, control of people at land and river borders.

Restoring control of people at Portuguese internal borders was determined, the suspension of cross-border rail traffic, except for the transport of goods and the suspension of river transport between Portugal and Spain, establishing that the definition of authorized crossing points at the land border would be determined by order of the Government member responsible for the area of ​​internal administration.

The Minister of Internal Affairs (MAY) determined as authorized crossing points at the land border, the following:

1 – Every day of the week, uninterruptedly:

  1. a) Valença-Viana do Castelo, exit of the Tuy-Valença Bridge-IP 1-A 3, in Valença;
  2. b) Vila Verde da Raia-Chaves, exit from A 52, link to A 24, km 0, next to the roundabout;
  3. c) Quintanilha-Bragança, exit from the International Bridge IP 4 / E 82, exit node to Quintanilha or next to the CCPA facilities at N 218-1 Quintanilha;
  4. d) Vilar Formoso-Guarda near the border line, Largo da Fronteira, with the CCPA, N 16 / E 80, Link 620 Fountains of Oñoro, Spain, including access through the TIR Park, via trucks, N 16, Vilar Formoso;
  5. and) Marvão-Portalegre, boundary line, Marvão, N 521 connection from Valencia de Alcântara to the IC 13 Marvão;
  6. f) Caia-Elvas, exit from A 6, km 158, Caia-Elvas link, next to the Tourist Office, Elvas;
  7. g) Vila Verde de Ficalho-Beja, near the border line, connection A 495 Rosal de la Frontera or IP 8, Serpa;
  8. h) Castro Marim-Praça da Fronteira, km 131 from A 22, Guadiana-Castro Marim International Bridge.

2 – On weekdays of 07:00 to h 09:00 h e the 18:00 to h 20:00 h:

  1. a) Monção, Avenida da Galiza, km 15,300, IN 101;
  2. b) Miranda do Douro, km 86,990, IN 218;
  3. c) Monfortinho-Castelo Branco Spa, N junction 239 as N 240 in Termas de Monfortinho;
  4. d) Mourao, S Border Point. Leonardo, km 7, IN 256-1;
  5. and) Canyons, IN 258, km 105,5, connecting to HU-9101.

3 – Only on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the 10:00 to h 12:00 h, Rio de Onor, Border Point of Rua da Costa, rural path.

Secondary borders in Alentejo
