Évora: Territorial GNR command is promoting Operation “Heavy Vehicles”.
A Republican National Guard intensifies, until next day 26 July, the monitoring of heavy goods vehicles and passengers, on roads with higher traffic volume of such vehicles.
During the period of operation, military of the Territorial Commands, the National Traffic Unit, Protection Service of Nature and the Environment (SEPNA) and Fiscal Action Unit, num total de cerca de 2 300, They will carry out about 900 enforcement actions, with special focus on:
The weight control and tachographs (driving time, breaks, rest periods, match-fixing and manipulation), check the packaging and freight transportation and technical condition of vehicles, control of driving under influence of alcohol, check the use of seat belts and restraint systems and detection of fiscal offenses, customs and environmental.
Regarding the Territorial Command Évora, They will be engaged in this operation 65 Military, divided by 21 patrols / enforcement actions directed especially to the above situations.
This operation will be carried out equally in all countries in Europe and fits the plane defined by European Traffic Police Network (TISPOL – www.tispol.org/), body that brings together all the traffic police forces of Europe, in which the GNR is national representative, and by Euro Controle Route (ECR – www.euro-controle-route.eu/site/), a control group of European road services whose goal is to improve road safety.
