Évora: Edia and DRCAlentejo promote exposure to 30 April.


Edia and Alentejo Regional Directorate of Culture on Tuesday, day 21 February by 18 hours, in the gallery of the House of Burgos, Evora, the exposure “LIGHT: Archeology in New Ways of Water”.

The territory of the village of Luz has always been marked by its privileged relationship with the Guadiana river, which serves as a geographic boundary, together with the stream Alcarrache.

There are many traces of occupation of this space over time, for those who sought the banks of these rivers a source of water and food.

In this exhibition, which promotes a partnership between edia and the Luz Museum with the Regional Directorate of Culture Alentejo, It intended to show the context of archaeological work campaigns carried out under the Development of Multiple Purposes of Alqueva (EFMA), where were inventoried close 6800 new archaeological sites and intervened over 1700.

Only within the Town of Light, They inventoried up over 240 heritage elements, Having performed at about excavations 50. They were intervened sites in the area to overwhelm the Bayou Alqueva dam, but also in the area of ​​the village of Luz, and in the rural land consolidation process or construction of irrigation and road networks.

The inevitable impacts of these "New Ways of Water", in the Cultural Heritage concerns, They are considered extremely positive, the amount of scientific information produced.

This show will feature the Gallery of the House of Burgos, Evora, until the day 30 April and can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 9h00 to 12h30 and from 14h00 to 17h30.
