Évora: Military Territorial Command very active and operating in the fight against crime.
An individual was arrested for the crime fighter in non hunting area, in Montemor-o-Novo, while in Reguengos de Monsaraz was detained a person for illegal possession of firearms and recovered a bird of prey.
Military Territorial Office and the Environmental Protection Center (NPA) Territorial Detachment of Montemor-o-Novo, conducted last day 8 December 2015 following a complaint, the detention of an individual 70 years old and Portuguese nationality, by hunting crime in not hunting area (Parking cattle).
The individual, when approaching patrols the site has even open an escape, and they were promptly arrested by the military that followed on his heels.
Following the arrest a shotgun gauge shotgun was seized 12 intended for hunting, two ammunition, three wrappers already triggered by the detainee during the practice of poaching and still manifest gun, use license and firearms and hunter letter.
The detainee was present at the local Court of Appeal of Montemor-o-Novo, Évora County on 9 December 2015, having been given the provisional suspension of the proceedings for a period of 2 months and the obligatory payment of a € 150.00 to CERCIMOR of Montemor-o-Novo.
Reguengos de Monsaraz - GNR holds individual for illegal possession of firearm
Military Territorial Office and the Environmental Protection Center (NPA) Territorial Detachment of Reguengos de Monsaraz conducted last day 8 December 2015 the arrest in an olive grove near the village of Monsaraz an individual's 37 years for illegal possession of firearm.
The arrest took place during Operation Course Safe – Operation that has as main objective the prevention of Olive thefts - and resulted from the approach 3 individuals present in the vicinity of an olive grove, that by your drives, raised suspicions the GNR elements which at that time were in patrol action at the local. Upon approach it was found that they had several objects normally used for olive picking, and that the detainee still had in his possession a firearm – a disguised 6.35mm pistol in clothes I wore and two ammunition.
In this sequence, all covered individuals were identified, having also been raised to one of them an official report by Car driving without legal authorization.
GNR recovers bird of prey in Reguengos de Monsaraz
Military Environmental Protection Center (NPA) Territorial Detachment of Reguengos de Monsaraz, conducted last day 7 December 2015 the recovery of Griffin (Gyps fulvus), found in the Peixinhos Zone, Vila Viçosa, showing signs of malnutrition, unable to fly.
The bird was treated, fed and delivered to the Conservation Institute for Nature and Forestry (ICNF) – Guadiana Valley Natural Park in Mértola to rate, recovery and subsequent return to their natural habitat.
The detainee was present to the prosecutor of Monsaraz Reguengos of Évora County on 9 December 2015, to await trial on the measure of Identity and Residence Term (TIR).
