Évora: Four defendants accused of vehicle theft costing more than 130 thousand euros.
The Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DIAP) Evora accused the four accused named “gangue das pick-ups”, that stole open box vans, backhoes and even a forklift. One of the vans was stolen in Castro Verde.
The DIAP indicted four defendants, considered operating the so-called "gang of pick-ups", responsible for theft 24 vehicles, between open box vans, two backhoes and forklifts, costing more than 130.000 euros.
The thefts occurred between 2016 and May 2017, time of the arrest of two suspects, two men from 41 and 47 year old, who are in custody in Prison Setúbal. The DIAP accused the two men by the practice of 24 crimes of theft of vehicles and forgery.

According to DIAP, thefts, in excess of 130.000 euros and were committed in several southern towns and country center: Fight, Évora, Mora, Montemor-o-Novo, Redondo, Castro Verde (Alentejo), Santo António do Tojal (Loures), Vila Velha de Ródão, withe Castle (withe Castle) and Santo António da Charneca (Barreiro).
The arrest of the main suspect occurred in the past day 5 May, an operation carried out, in coordination with the DIAP of Évora, military GNR Territorial Command of Évora (CTE) and the support of the Intervention Unit.
The authorities raided a warehouse in Setubal, where the cars were dismantled and where they kept the material from theft. four cars were seized, three goods (pick-ups) and a passenger, two backhoes and forklifts, plus several hundred auto parts stolen and dismantled cars and still diverse dismantling equipment.
