Two men were detained last night by soldiers from the Territorial Command of Beja (CTBeja) of the GNR after a chase on the A2, which ended in Grândola.
The suspects carried approx. 34 kilos of hashish, 70.000 euros to ECB banknotes, a gun, a BMW-Series car 2 and would return from Spain where they had acquired the narcotic.
Has learned the Lidador News, the GNR operation ended around 23,00 hours and took place following suspicious movements on the A2, which led to the pursuit of the suspicious vehicle to Grândola, which lasted about 100 kilometers, having started in the intervention area of ​​CTBeja.
on the trail, the fugitives entered Grândola and circulated through several arteries of this village until they entered a dead-end street, where there was an exchange of fire with the GNR military and the arrests were recorded.
According to information gathered by LN, the operation has not yet been reported as finished and, according to Lieutenant Nunes, commander of the Transit Detachments of Beja, two suspects remain on the run.
In the operation, the Territorial Command of Beja employed soldiers from the Transit and Intervention Detachments. The two detainees will be presented to a Judge of Criminal Investigation of the Court of Grândola for the first interrogation and application of coercive measures.
