The exhibition “Aljustrel – 100 year old, from Bottom to Surface”.
The exhibition depicts the latest 100 miners' life years, from the long and dramatic four-month strike in the winter of 1922/23, that forced the miners of Aljustrel to deliver to the solidarity of the working class in several cities in the country, about two hundred of their children to escape hunger, up to today.
since its opening, the exhibition opened, last day 1 November, at the headquarters of the Aljustrel Mining Industry Union, already received more than 700 visitors, coming not only from the county but from various parts of the country.
The exhibition “Aljustrel – 100 year old, from the Bottom to the Surface” will be open to the public until the day 4 of December, Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 12.30 pm and from 2 pm to 7 pm, closing on monday. Admission is free.
The exhibition has the support of the Aljustrel City Council, of the Parish Councils of the Municipality, of the Union of Workers of the Mining Industry, from Almina-Minas do Alentejo, da Fiequimetal, da Radio TLA, from the Aljube Museum, from CGTP, of the Union of Portuguese Anti-Fascists Resistance (URAP), of the PCP Study Group and the Union of Unions of Beja.
