Fª Alentejo: Vila gets Oath Squares Flag of RI1, based in Beja.
Course Flag Oath General Common Training Army Squares 2017, taking place in the Infantry Regiment No. 1, in Beja, held in Ferreira do Alentejo.
The village of Ferreira do Alentejo, will host tomorrow, day 25 November, 11.00am, a young Flag Oath Common Soldiers-Rookie General Training Course Army Squares underway in Infantry Regiment No. 1, which is based in Beja, and which depends, yet, Detachment in Tavira and the Public Service Office in Faro.
The event will be chaired by S.Exa the Secretary of State for National Defense, Dr Marcos Perestrello, and the presence of CEME General Rovisco Duarte, and will also include the presence of high civil and military of Beja and Algarve, as well as the important support of the Municipality of Ferreira do Alentejo.
This is the first official ceremony which is present in Colonel Paulo Curro, que tomou posse com o comandante do Regimento de Infantaria n.º 1, last Tuesday.
Before the National Banner the 53 Recruits soldiers will swear to defend the homeland, the Constitution and laws of the Republic (photo RI1 Flag Oath, in Faro, last March).
During the ceremony will also be decorated some soldiers from Infantry Regiment No. 1 and awarded veterans of the war in Africa, residing in the Algarve, with commemorative medals of campaigns.
Awards will also be given to soldiers-recruit more distinguished in the first investigation phase that ends now.
