The construction of synthetic turf on the playground, is the main dream and goal of the direction of Futebol Clube Albernoense (FCA), which can enhance two others, the creation of training teams and the use of training by foreign teams.
Albernoa is located in the center of the so-called “Tourism Triangleâ€, which at the vertices has three of the best rural hotels in the country: Herdades dos Grous and Malhadinha Nova and the Vila Galé Country Club.
Despite the meetings held, on the part of the Municipality not yet a commitment for when the synthetic turf may exist. The headquarters of the grass is so big that although the club plays the games of the District of the 2nd Division of A.F.Beja on Sunday, every monday the team travels to Cabeça Gorda, doing 40 kilometers to train in the synthetic of that club. In addition to travel expenses, space rental costs 40 euros per training.
In associative registrations and fuel for travel to games and training, the community spends 9.000 euros in season, in return as fixed annual revenue 2.000 euros from the Chamber of Beja and 500 euros from the Parish Union. In home games, the club does not sell tickets, it makes a raffle for a paio and a bottle of Alentejo wine for one euro. “If we charged tickets, at the price they are, no one came to the ball. The newly created Sport Fishing section will have 10 fishermen, five from the village of Albernoa and the other five from Castelo Branco, aiming at the participation of the club in all the tests of the National Championships. “We adopted this format, so that we can be present and all competitions in a more economical way. Our fishermen from Albicastres participate in the tests further north and those from Alberno in the south. We didn't invent anything newâ€, justified the president of the collective.
The football squad of Albernoense football includes five foreigners, four are students at the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, from the PALOP'S, and the Portuguese/Ukrainian Vladislav Kryvonosyuk is a member of the Air Force at BA11.
