Ferreira do Alentejo: Man dies crushed by forklift box in Rose Valley.


A man of 52 died today in a work accident at the premises of a company that produces table grapes in Ferreira do Alentejo, no Beja district, revealed sources from the GNR and the Civil Protection.

A source from the Baixo Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command told the Lusa agency that the accident at work, for which the alert was given to 12.02 hours, took place at Herdade Vale da Rosa.

Contacted by Lusa, a source from the Territorial Command of Beja of the GNR indicated that the victim is a man of 52 years and that death occurred by “crushing with a forklift box”.

The same source, because it was an accident at work, inspectors from the Authority for Working Conditions were called to the site (ACT) to investigate the occurrence.

Lusa contacted Herdade Vale da Rosa, but company officials declined to make any statements.

The rescue operations mobilized the Firefighters of Ferreira do Alentejo and the GNR, in a total of four operational, supported by two vehicles.
